Club Meeting -- June 22, 2007

As the festivities got underway, our animated
President

had a hold on that pig as if it were the
pigskin for a winning touchdown in his gridiron days.

Roving Ambassador Howard Fisher told us all
about the City of Music,
where he visited the Rotary Club and made even more new friends.

Mary Benton delighted us as the Finemaster with
a mission... to stump us and get the cash.
Seems our own dear Mary enjoys a wee bit of revenge, for the trials inflicted by
previous quizzes.
She kept us on our toes, like nobody's
business!

Afterwards she turned angelic again,
with a smile suggesting sweetness and light,
and lots of hugs and kisses!
Then it was time for Dick's recounting of his
year "Leading the Way" for our Club
which he clearly enjoyed way past the legal limit,

with an infectiously entertaining program, for which he gets rave reviews.
Rotary International has been open to female
membership for 20 years now,

and looking around the room, it was easy to
see how

these fine gentlemen keep the ladies coming
back for more

with eager anticipation for what the future
has in store.

And if that's not enough to tug on your heart,
here's the cutest little puppy, and a flowering work of art!
Club Meeting -- June 15, 2007

With lovely ladies in the house, President
Dick Carter was sparking like lightning...

...and the handsome lads were worthy of
knighting!

Two terrific Rotarians are Tina and R.C. --
both great contributors to our Community.

Mary wins the raffle, but not the Million
Dollar Bill lurking in the basket...
although, she's certainly worth it!

Tina introduced the program, and our speaker
Arnaud Maitland.
Author of "Living
Without Regret – Human Experience in Light of Tibetan Buddhism"
and many
other books as well, Arnaud was a delightful guide to Buddhist principles and
their real-world applications.

From suede wingtips to epithelial toe-tips,
there was something interesting wherever the eye might wander!

And a wee bit of beauty smiled out yonder.
Club Meeting -- June 8, 2007

A matched set of smiles from Paulie and Bill
Johns... makes a great beginning!
We were led by Dick Carter, and well informed
by a Board report from R.C. Vasavada.

Then we were tormented with glee, by our
Finemaster Dick Soule,
who strained our brains and made each of us pay.

The fine gentlemen of Rotary, in many
thoughtful moods, were well served by

the terrific program on advances in
geriatric services, presented by Kathy Greco of RCMS.

We thanked her heartily, and Dick
presented a book donation for our children's library.

You know it's been a good meeting when the
discussion
continues all the way to the parking lot at the rear,

and when Fluffy Ruffles joyfully announce that
"Summer is here!"
Club Meeting -- June 1, 2007
Another lively meeting, with Rotarians caught
in the act of being themselves!

The dark-haired gentleman turned out to be our
own Joel,
dolled up for his role as the father in "The Diary of Anne Frank."

Jeff toyed with us a bit, but then reached
deep into his wallet, for a good cause!

If you're not sure who's wearing this belt,
you've been gone too long, and we need you back!
Richie de Losada gave us a good education about the
Segway personal transporter,
and then took us outside for a demonstration, training and "test drives."

It was great fun, as we each gave it a whirl
with the help of Richie's personal coaching.

There was a spirit of fun in the air, as if we
were kids playing at recess time!

Way cool! What a trip! Everyone
ended up smiling...

...and there were even a couple of "Girls Gone
Wild!"
