2008 Club Meeting Highlights from 1st Quarter
Presentations on sharks and abalone were
fascinating, with ab diver Howard modeling the interaction!
We learned about mammoth construction projects
in India, Canada, and the USA,
and about aging well right here at home.
A Finemaster Quiz asked "What's your
favorite song?"
And when all the votes were counted, 'Yellow Submarine' was declared our
unofficial Club Song.
One day soon we'll make Rolly sing it for us!
Some of our handsome gents, caught in the act!
District Governor Ken, and a very elegant Pam,
had just returned from Africa.
They made an indelible presentation about Polio Plus
and Rotary's role in eliminating Polio from the planet.
Janet K. arranged for the new head of the Big
Brothers & Big Sisters organization here on the Coast
to describe the program and recruit "Bigs" to team up with local children.
It was such a good meeting that it was a "Two
Book" thank you!
Rolly was congratulated for a great job leading
out on the 3rd Grade Dictionary Give Away,
and Hanne received a big Club THANK YOU for a big contribution.
Newest member Robert Juengling was spotted
outside "going to the dogs"
while inside these fine fellows were as frisky as puppies.
R.C. delivers a funny one with a bit of spice,
and Doug laughs out loud, and then laughs twice!
A Spring bouquet, and financial support, for
two lovely recipients of
the prestigious People to People international study program.
